No not correct! The insurance builds what they Rücklagen it is kind of provision so that the person won‘t pay higher contribution when he/she gets older!

That is, what you have been told. But it all goes another way. The companies change their conditions for the contracts mostly every year. And so the "Rücklagen" for these contracts are running out very quickly. If you make a contract this year, you have a contract 2018. And for this kind of contract are the "Rücklagen". A contract from 2017 or 2019 is another couple of fish. Just try to find out the conditions of the contracts made in 1980 or 1990 and take a look what you would have to pay today. I know some people, who cannot pay their contracts any more.

The Rücklagen can be transfered from insurance to insurance! Why they are running out! Anyway for expats staying for short time 2 or 5 or even 10 years and going back to their countries this is definitely not worthy to go for public insurance this is wast of money!
